Mary Alice Boelter

Mary Alice (Hoffman) Boelter, age 92 of Henderson died on Monday afternoon, August 6, at her home with her family at her side. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, August 10, 2018, 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Henderson. Visitation will be on Thursday at the Kolden Funeral Home in Le Sueur, MN from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Friday morning at church from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Church Cemetery. Lunch to follow at the Roadhaus in Henderson, MN. Mary was born on April 15, 1926 in St. Paul, MN to William and Evelyn "Margaret" (Doyle) Hoffman. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Henderson, MN. She grew up on the family farm west of Henderson and attended District #2 Country School from 1st grade - 8th grade. She graduated from Henderson High School in 1944. She attended Mankato State University and Teacher Training in Le Center, MN. Mary was a teacher at Keystone School for 6 years prior to her marriage to Everett Boelter on June 24, 1950 at St. Joseph's Church. Together they farmed and raised 9 children. They were married 49 years. Mary Alice enjoyed baking, (especially Christmas goodies), cooking, gardening, and spending time with family and friends. Everett and Mary Alice enjoyed traveling on many bus trips but spending time with their grandchildren brought them the most joy. While raising their family, summers at the Boelter Farm brought cousins and friends for visits with Mary Alice. She was always delighted to welcome guests in her home. Mary Alice is survived by her 9 children; Tom (Carmen) Boelter of Le Sueur; Russ (Mary) Boelter of Henderson, MN; Kathy (Jim) Wilhelmi of Litchfield, MN; Deb (Tom) Conroy of Farmington, MN; Gordy (Laura) Boelter of Henderson, MN; Tim (Mary Jo) Boelter of Green Isle, MN; Marilyn (Marty) Brazil of Litchfield, MN; Diane (Doug) Tousley of Henderson, MN; and Curt (Cindy) Boelter of Henderson, MN. Thirty Grandchildren: Tammy Romer, Ben, Christie, Roger, Frank J.P, Vincent & Rachelle Boelter; Stacy (Matt) West & Joe Boelter; Monica (Randy) Baker, Robert (Elizabeth) Wilhelmi, Becky Wilhelmi & Billy (Mary Beth) Wilhelmi; Jenny, (passed) and John Conroy; Jason, Jeffrey (Megan) & McKayla Boelter; Brittney (Dave) Abraham, Sam (Becky), Loren (Kelly), Jack (Kellie Jo) Boelter; Dan (Lindsey) Brazil; Luke, Ashley Jacob (Missy) & Allyson Tousley; Cody (Lauren), Cole (Nicole) & Callie Boelter. Forty-one Great-grandchildren, 1 Great-great-granddaughter. Sister, Theresa Becker of Burnsville, MN and brother, Frank (Betty) Hoffman. Many other relatives and friends. Mary Alice is preceded in death by her husband Everett in 1999; granddaughter, Jenny Conroy; parents: William and Evelyn Hoffman; sisters, Rita Grunwald & Ruth Beseke and brother, Ed Hoffman.
