Mavis J. Hillstrom

Mavis June Hillstrom, age 81 of Belle Plaine, passed away on August 17, 2023 at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Shakopee, Minnesota. Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine at 11:00 A.M. Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Belle Plaine. Pastor Daniel Slaughter will officiate the services. Lunch to follow burial at the church.

Mavis was born on June 23, 1942 to Glenard and Mabel (Rolf) Lenz in Waconia Township, Carver County, Minnesota. She grew up in the Gotha County area, attended K-8th grade at Zion Lutheran School in Cologne, Minnesota and graduated from high school in Norwood Young America. She married Robert C. Hillstrom on October 5, 1962 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine, Minnesota where they resided for over 60 years. 

Mavis is survived by her husband, Robert, son, Greg Hillstrom of Belle Plaine, granddaughter, Claire Hillstrom of Belle Plaine, brothers, Lowell (Deb) Lenz of Shakopee, Minnesota and Leon (Deb) Lenz of Norwood-Young America, Minnesota, brother-in-law, Wayne (Cindy) Hillstrom of New Prague, and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Glenard and Mabel Lenz, and parents-in-law, Verner and Esther Hillstrom.
