Melva Teschendorf, age 93 of rural Green Isle passed away Friday, January 24, 2020 at Oak Terrace Health Care Center of Gaylord. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 1st at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Arlington. Visitation will be two hours prior to service time Saturday at the church. Interment will be in the Arlington Public Cemetery.
Melva was born on September 25, 1926 in Arlington Township to William and Alma (Wentzlaff) Brockoff. She married Marvin Teschendorf on May 1, 1945 in Arlington. Melva worked for the HM Noack Company, Big Stone Canning Company and helped her husband on the farm and also attended her duties as a homemaker. Melva enjoyed embroidering, sewing, baking, flower gardening, bingo, playing cards and visiting with family and friends.
Melva is survived by her children; Kenneth (Bonnie) Teschendorf of Glencoe, William (Jan) Teschendorf of Alexandria, Sandra (Richard) Schwope of Green Isle and special family friend; Mary Jo Nelson of Monticello, eight grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, siblings; Lilah Boser of Gaylord and Orma Menk of Arlington, siblings-in-law; Darlene Pichelmann of Arlington, LeRoy (Colleen) Teschendorf of Finland and Dennis (Jean) Teschendorf of LeSueur, nieces, nephews and many extended family and friends.
Melva is preceded in death by her parents; William and Alma Brockoff, husband Marvin Teschendorf, son Donald Teschendorf, granddaughter Sharon, siblings; Lloyd Brockoff, Arlene Pieschke, Viola St. John, Violet Brueggemeier, siblings-in-law; Mildred Brockoff, Henry Mammenga, Arnold Boser, Matthew Robeck, Alton Menk, Vernon Pieschke, Dale St. John and Martin Brueggemeier, parents-in-law; Albert and Lorena Teschendorf and siblings-in-law; Savilla & Marvin Mesker, Norman Pichelmann, Mida & Wesley Jensen.
