Michael G. Madden of Le Sueur, age 64, passed away May 3, 2022 at his residence in Le Sueur.
Family graveside services will be held on a later date at Ottawa Cemetery.
Michael was born in Mankato on August 20, 1957 to Clyde and Lorayne (Bennett) Madden. He received the sacraments at St. Annes Catholic Church in Le Sueur.
He grew up in Ottawa, attending Le Sueur public schools and graduated with the class of 1975. Mike spent his life working various jobs in mechanical endeavors.
Mike was united in marriage to Mary Scott, welcoming Mary’s daughters Michele and Kristina. On July 10, 1980, their daughter Sara Jo was born. Mike and Mary later divorced.
He lived with his sister Michele and Dale Radloff in Waterville for a short time. Mike then returned to Le Sueur, living at Hillside Court until the time of his death. With his health declining he received assistance from Bill and Lisa Radloff along with help from other relatives and friends.. He loved family get-togethers, home cooked meals and his to-go boxes to share with his beloved cat of 21 years, Taz. Mike’s highlights were trips to the casino, popcorn from the Red Men Club watching MN Sports and wrestling on pay-per-view.
Mike’s passion was preparing cars and driving in demolition derbys. He once drove to California to check out a Chrysler that his sisters Maureen and Sandy had found. Returning the same day to prepare the car for the demo that weekend. “Madman Mike” took first place with the gem his sisters had found.
Mike is survived by his daughters; Sara Jo, Michelle and Kristina. Grandson; Teagan, Sisters; Maureen Bilbrey, Sandy (Jim) Reeves of Richmond, California and Michele Radloff of Waterville, and his brother Patrick (Tammy) Madden of WI, and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters (at childbirth), brothers-in-law Don Bilbrey and Dale Radloff, and two nephews, Jeff and Joel Zupan.
