Monica was born on January 10, 1943, to Alan and Mary (O’Brien) Mans in St. Peter, MN. She grew up in St. Peter and graduated from St. Peter High School. She attended a business school in Minneapolis before she married Kenneth Nyblom on September 7, 1963. Kenny’s career took the family to various states and cities before returning to Le Sueur, MN in the early 1970s. Monica was a loving homemaker and worked various jobs, including the Le Sueur Creamery and Green Giant in Le Sueur before ending her working career with The Branch floral shop in Le Sueur.
She loved all animals and gave a loving home to many stray cats through the years. She also always made it a point to adopt rescue dogs. Monica was well-known as a talented gardener and tender of potted plants and flowers. Her love of birds and casual bird-watching at her feeders and windows occupied much of her free time. Many friends and family members were the recipients of holiday cards and greetings, as she observed the many holidays with cards, letters, and festive holiday nick-knacks adorning her home. In her later years, she cherished the relationships created with neighbors in her apartment building near the fairgrounds in St. Peter.
Monica is survived by her son, Peter Nyblom, and grandson; Aidan Nyblom of St. Paul, MN. Siblings; Mary Ellen Rauenhorst of Olivia, MN and Jim (Jan) Mans of Aitkin, MN. Her parents preceded her death; her husband, Kenneth in 2016, and her sister, Colleen Howard.
