Myrtle A. Steinborn, age 83 of Le Sueur, died Saturday, November 23, 2019 at the Ridgeview Nursing Home in Le Sueur. Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 2, 2019 at First Lutheran Church in Le Sueur with Pastor Carl Bruihler officiating. Visitation will be from 9-11a.m. at the church on Monday. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Belle Plaine.
Myrtle was born on May 17, 1936 in New Ulm to Art and Eva (Menard) Brenke. She grew up and attended country school in the Henderson area. She married Gordon Steinborn on May 22, 1954 at Dresselville Church in Le Sueur County. They made their home in rural Henderson. She was a certified nursing assistant in St. Peter, Arlington, and Le Sueur nursing homes retiring in 1984. She loved to knit embroidery and bake but most of all she loved her family and to visit.
She is survived by her daughter, Julianne (Dean) Siehndel of Le Sueur; 2 grandchildren, Christopher Siehndel of Le Sueur, and Deanna (Randy) Schmidt of Arlington, SD; 2 great-granddaughters, Nora and Landri Schmidt; brother, Art (Ann) Brenke of Henderson; sister-in-law, Mayonna Brenke of Norwood Young America; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gordon in ’97; brother, Walter Brenke; and step-sister, Ceceila Simning.
