Norman Holmquist was born on February 19, 1940 in Waseca, MN to Oscar and Eleanore (Nelson) Holmquist.
Norman lived at home in Belle Plaine until 1974 when he moved to Shakopee. He worked for 20 years at Opportunity Workshop in Hopkins.
Norman moved to Hope Lutheran in Belle Plaine in 2004 and was a resident there until his death on March 12, 2022.
His favorite thing to do was watch the old westerns on TV and listen to polka music, which is what he grew up with while living at home with his parents.
Norman is survived by his sisters, Elaine Petter of Coon Rapids, Irene (Armin) Koepp of Shakopee, Joyce (Virgil) Rannow of Gibbon, Judy Holmquist of Shakopee, two cousins: Donn Holmquist and Richard Carlson of St. James, MN. Twenty nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, brother, Ivan; brother-in-law, Ralph Petter; niece, Shelly Rannow -Westlund; great nephew, Ricky Holmquist, Jr; nephew-in-law, Steve Larson.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2022, at the Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Belle Plaine.
Pall Bearers will be his nephews, Anthony Carlson, Justin Carlson, Armin Koepp, Jr, Gary Koepp, Ricky Holmquist and Virgil Rannow, Jr.
