Oscar Juarez, Sr.

Oscar Juarez, Sr., of Arlington, Minnesota, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 22, 2021 in Rochester, Minnesota. 

Funeral services will be on Friday, February 26, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Sunrise Assembly of God Church in St. Peter.   Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, at the church and will continue from 10 a.m. until service time Friday, all at the church.   Following the services, lunch will be held at the church and an interment service will be in Mound Cemetery in Le Sueur later in the afternoon. 

Oscar was born on April 2, 1953 in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico to Anita Salas and Jose Eugenio Juarez.  Oscar attended school in Mexico and after he graduated went onto a trade school and became a welder. Oscar met Maria del Consuelo at a young age and they dated for 5 years before getting married on May 19, 1973.  Together they have 4 children of which they moved up to Minnesota in 1991 where they planted a church and made Minnesota their home.

Oscar was a pastor, mentor, teacher but most importantly he was a loving husband and father to Maria and his kids. He taught and inspired many people to love and play music whether it was guitar, piano, bass or singing. Music and sharing Gods word were his passion. He was also a jokester and always loved trying to get others to laugh with his funny, and sometimes, not so funny jokes.

He absolutely loved Maria so much. They were together for 53 years and they had a love hate kind of relationship that only they truly understood.

Oscar's legacy will live on through his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and anyone who knew him. Through the music they play, the songs they sing and the jokes they will tell.

His church family and friends will remember him from his works at the church, his guidance and prayers for all who ever heard him preach or play his music. He will truly be missed by many.

He is survived by his love of 53 years, Maria del Consuelo Juarez; sons, Oscar (Sarah) Juarez, and Eujenio “Lucky” (Joann) Juarez; daughters, Ida Juarez, and Martha (Matt) Croyle; granddaughters, Naomi, Angel Lea, Hailey, Jennavie, Lily, and Rose; grandsons, Malachi, Josiah, Noah, Jacob, AJ, Isaiah, Christian, and Boaz; and great granddaughter, Aspen; as well as his brothers and sisters, Maria Elena, Eugenio, Ricardo, Arturo, and Maria de Jesus Juarez; and many other family members, church members and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Jose Eugenio Salas; mother, Anita Salas; brother, Jose Luis Juarez; and son, Benito Juarez.

Los servicios funerarios serán el Viernes 26 de Febrero de 2021 a las 11 a.m. en la Iglesia Sunrise Assembly of God en St. Peter. El velorio será de 4 a 7 p.m. el Jueves, en la iglesia y continuará desde las 10 a.m. en la iglesia. Oscar Juárez Sr. de Arlington, MN se fue con el señor el Lunes, Febrero 22, 2021 en Rochester, MN. El nació el 2 de abril de 1953 en Piedras Negras, Coahuila, México de Anita Salas y José Eugenio Juárez. Oscar asistió a la escuela en México y después de graduarse fue a una escuela de oficios y se convirtió en soldador. Oscar conoció a María del Consuelo a una edad temprana y salieron durante 5 años antes de casarse el 19 de Mayo de 1973. Juntos tienen 4 hijos de los cuales se mudaron a Minnesota en 1991, donde plantaron una iglesia e hicieron de Minnesota su hogar.

Oscar fue pastor, mentor y maestro, pero lo más importante es que fue un esposo y padre amoroso para María y sus hijos. Enseñó e inspiró a muchas personas a tocar y amar la música, ya fuera guitarra, piano, bajo o cantar. La música y compartir la palabra de Dios eran su pasión. También era un bromista y siempre le encantó intentar hacer reír a los demás con sus bromas divertidas y, a veces, no tan divertidas.

Amaba muchísimo a María. Estuvieron juntos durante 53 años y tenían una relación de amor y odio que solo ellos realmente entendían.

El legado de Oscar vivirá a través de sus hijos, nietos y bisnietos y de cualquiera que lo haya conocido. A través de la música que tocan, los cantos que cantan y los chistes que cuentan.

Su familia y amigos de la iglesia lo recordarán por sus trabajos en la iglesia, su guía y sus oraciones por todos los que lo escucharon predicar o tocar su música. Muchos lo extrañarán realmente.

Le sobreviven su amor de 53 años, María del Consuelo Juárez, Hijos Oscar (Sarah) Juárez, Eujenio “Lucky” (Joann) Juárez, Hijas, Ida Juárez, Martha (Matt) Croyle, Nietas, Naomi, Angel Lea, Hailey , Jennavie, Lily y Rose, Nietos, Malachi, Jacob, Noah, Josiah, AJ, Isaiah, Christian y Boaz y Bisnieta Aspen, así como sus Hermanos y Hermanas, Maria Elena, Eugenio, Ricardo, Arturo y Maria de Jesus Juarez, muchos otros miembros de la familia, miembros de la iglesia y amigos.

Le anteceden en la muerte su Padre José Eugenio Salas, su Madre Anita Salas, su Hermano José Luis Juárez y su Hijo Benito Juárez.
