Regina Maus Obituary

April 7, 1934 ~ November 21, 2021 (age 87)

Regina Mary Maus, age 87 of rural Henderson, died on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at The Estates of Excelsior in Excelsior, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, November 27, 11:00 a.m, St. Joseph's Church, Henderson, MN.  Visitation will be at the Kolden Funeral Home, Le Sueur on Saturday morning, 9:00 a.m. ~ 10:30 a.m, we will then proceed to St. Joseph's in Henderson for the 11:00 a.m. Mass. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery. Masks are required at both the visitation and the Mass.

Regina was born in Derrynane Township, Le Sueur County on April 7, 1934 to Michael A. and Anna (Guessen) Glisczinski. She attended St. Wenceslaus Catholic School and then left her schooling to help raise her younger siblings after the unexpected death of her mother on Regina’s birthday.

On May 4, 1957 she married Walter P. Maus at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Lexington, MN. They lived and raised their family on the farm where Walter grew up in Henderson Township, Sibley County.

Regina was strong in her Catholic faith which she demonstrated each day in caring for her family and others in her life. Her faith guided her through loss in her earlier life and later when diagnosed with MS. MS may have slowed her down but it never stopped her from enjoying the many card games, baking & cooking our favorites and attending any and all family events. This was mostly made possible by the assistance of her Granddaughter, Jackie, who was her precious caretaker for many of the past years.

She is survived by her children; Donna (Bill) Grunwald of Apple Valley, MN; Ann Marie (Charlie) Hartman of New Prague, MN; David (Pauline) Maus of New Prague, MN; JoAnn (Roger) Meyer of Henderson, MN; MaryJo (Rick) Sauter of Cologne, MN and Roger (Denice) Maus of Henderson, MN. 18 Grandchildren and 18 Great Grandchildren. Siblings; Francis (Billie Jo) Glisczinski of Belle Plaine, Phyllis Deutsch of New Prague and Ann Revord of Belle Plaine. Many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Walter in 2011, her Granddaughter Laura Maus in 2013 and her Grandson Lee Grunwald in 2018. Siblings; Rita (Pat) Savage, Sylvester (Joan) Glisczinski, Michael (Pat) Glisczinski and brother-in-law Richard Deutsch.
