Sandra (Sandy) Carol Kurtzweg, age 75, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2020 at her rural Arlington home surrounded by family after her 46 month battle with cancer.
She was born June 5, 1944 to Erick and Marion (Provencher) Woetzel. She first lived in Greenleaf, MN and then moved to Litchfield. Sandy graduated from Litchfield High School in 1962 and then worked at 3M. She later attended Minnesota School of Business and returned to Litchfield and worked at the high school as a secretary.
Sandy married Marlin Kurtzweg on June 25, 1965. They lived in Hutchinson and then moved to their farm near Arlington. Sandy helped on the farm, worked at the Arlington State Bank, Young America Corporation, and then at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church as secretary for 25 years. She was active in church and very strong in her faith. Sandy enjoyed to cook and bake. She loved her family and watching her grandchildren grow up.
Sandy is survived by her husband, Marlin; children, Gary (Karen) Kurtzweg and Connie (Mike) Weilage; grandchildren, Kimberly and Tanner Kurtzweg; step-grandchildren, Mikyla and Randy Weilage; sister, Melba (Leo) Roeske; brother-in-law, Orlin Kurtzweg (special friend Kat Penkert); sister-in-law, Bernet (Bruce) Pinske; niece, Amy Pinske; nephews, Scott (Kandi) and Brad (Gloria) Roeske; cousins, other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; parents-in-law, Ralph and Alma Kurtzweg and niece Lora Pinske.
A private family memorial service was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 17th at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in Arlington. No further services are scheduled.
