Scott Rodney Anderson

Scott Rodney Anderson, age 64 of rural Arlington passed away on Sunday July 9th, 2023 at University of Minnesota Fairview, Minneapolis.

Scott was born on February 19th, 1959 at the Arlington Municipal Hospital to Rodney and Lorraine (Neubarth) Anderson.  Scott was baptized on March 20th, 1959 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Arlington.  Scott later confirmed his faith through Confirmation at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Arlington.  Scott attended and graduated from Arlington-Green Isle High School.  After graduation he worked along side his parents on the family dairy farm which he later continued with his own family.

In 1988 he met Barb.  They later married on July 22nd, 1989 at Peace Lutheran Church in Arlington.  Together they raised four children.  One of his favorite summer activities was seeing his kids show cattle at the County and State Fairs.  He was also the proud recipient of the County DHIA dairy production award.  Farming and cows were his passion second only to his family.  He was referred to as Dr. Dolittle as no matter what the animal was, they always took to him.  He was a board member of the Sibley County DHIA.  He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and served on the education board.  Over the years Scott found out that he enjoyed traveling, which took him to places such as Mexico, Costa Rica, Jamaica, Aruba, Haiti, Columbia, Panama, Curacao, the Bahamas, Alaska, Las Vegas and numerous other states.  Sometimes he was joined on these adventures by friends, or his kids and his grandkids which brought him great joy.  

Scott is survived by his wife, Barb (Hahn) Anderson of Arlington, Andrew (Lori) Anderson of Plainview, MN, Tina Hansen of Red Wing, MN, Thomas (Jessica) Anderson of Arlington, MN,  Katherine Anderson (special friend Brian Chilman) of Belle Plaine, MN.  Grandchildren Hunter and Dylan of Plainview, MN, Tyler and Carter of Prior Lake, MN,  Faith, Alexia, Thomas Jr., Christian, and Treyton of Arlington, MN, and Madison of Belle Plaine.  Brother-in-Laws Fred Jordan of Republic, MO, Richard Hahn of Le Sueur, MN, Sister-in-Laws Bernice Stiehm of North Mankato, MN, Charlotte (Michelle) Boness-Hahn of Blue Earth, MN, and Brenda (Scott) Sorenson of Arlington, MN.  And many nieces, nephews, & numerous cousins.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents, sister Sharon Dusoski, Sister-in-Law Virginia Jordan and Brother-in-Law Lloyd Stiehm.

Funeral services will be held July 15th, 2023 at 3:00pm with visitation 2 hours prior all taking place at Peace Lutheran Church in Arlington.  Burial will follow immediately after the service at Arlington Public Cemetery with dinner at the church following.
