William "Billy" Byrne

William Byrne, 88, of Henderson, died Thursday, December 8, 2022 at his home in Henderson, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at St. Thomas Catholic Church, St. Thomas, MN. Fr. Chris Shofner officiating.  Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 13, at the Kolden Funeral Home in Le Sueur and also one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. We will then proceed to St. Thomas for the 10:30 a.m. Mass at 10:15 a.m. Interment with Military Honors will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Henderson followed by lunch at St. Anne’s School in Le Sueur, MN.

Bill was born on July 6, 1934, to Patrick and Mary (Grundhoffer) Byrne in St. Thomas, MN. He grew up in the St. Thomas Community, graduated from Le Sueur High School and entered the United States Army of February 16, 1956, where he served over seas and received a Purple Heart. He was released from active duty and honorably discharged on December 10, 1957. He returned home and began working with Komatz Construction in St. Peter, MN. He married Sandy Beseke on August 12, 1961, at St. Thomas Catholic Church, St. Thomas, MN. Continued his career with Komatz Construction, (Later, Lorentz Construction). He also worked part time as a police officer in Henderson, MN and was on their Volunteer Fire Dept. for many years. He also spent his retirement driving truck part time for Ag Partners. He enjoyed watching all High School and College sports as the Town Teams Baseball and Softball. He was also a Green Bay Packer fan. Enjoyed watching Westerns and listening to Willies Roadhouse.

 He is survived by his daughters, Mary Byrne of  Le Seuer, Susan Byrne of Henderson, Kim Byrne of Henderson and Amy  Byrne  of Auburn, GA; 9 grandchildren, Nicky Zeiher, Mike (Chris) Zeiher, Peter Zeiher, Tim Erickson, Tara Erickson, Tami Erickson, Kiki Byrne, Kevin Kuhl and Harleigh Kuhl; 14 great-grandchildren, Zac Reinhardt, Mindy and Kristopher Kruger, David Zeiher, Jared Zeiher, Desiree Felix, Kylee, Kamilla, Kendra, Kirah and Beau Erickson, Allison, Morgan and Talen Schwandt. 5 great-great grandchildren Ryker, Arya, Lyara Reinhardt, Blaize and Tynley Krueger; sisters, Mary Connolly of Belle Plaine, Fran Tiegs of Henderson; brother, Ray Byrne of Crystal, and Shelby Beseke of Henderson.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sandy in 2009 and his siblings Paul, John, and Jack. His daughter Kathy. Sister-in-law Josie Patterson and Veronica Byrne, Donna Morrisette, Ruth Beseke. Brother-in-law Tom Beseke, Bill Beseke, Lloyd (Boyce) Beseke, Phil Beseke.
